Shells are groups of stitches worked into the same stitch of the previous row. Shells are abbreviated by naming the number and type of stitches. For example, a 5dc-shell is a shell of 5 double crochet, likewise a 3tr-shell is a shell of 3 triples. Below is an example of a 5tr-shell, or a shell of 5 triples. ![]() |
